The TRUST Equestrian Pony Collection. An anatomically shaped bit with a perfect fit for a pony\u2019s mouth. In collaboration with pony riders, TRUST equestrian developed the pony series with new sizes, thinner mouthpieces and smaller cheekpieces. The bits are made in sizes 9,5 cm, 10,5 cm and 11,5 cm.<\/p>\n

The TRUST Equestrian Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron will rust when it comes into contact with (air) humidity, the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more, which in turn will encourage a better acceptance of the bit. The process of rusting (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to a brownish-grey. This is the desired effect of the Sweet Iron bits. If a Sweet Iron bit is not used for a while, an orange-brown rust layer may form on the mouthpiece. Simply remove this by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.<\/p>\n

Sweet Iron bits are suitable for all horses. Sweet Iron helps the horse to salivate more, which will encourage a better acceptance of the bit.<\/p>\n

The Sweet Iron collection has the most variation in mouthpieces, each with its own specific effect.<\/p>\n

A jointed bit has one hinge point, which means less pressure on the tongue than with a eliptical mouthpiece. A jointed mouthpiece exerts pressure mainly on the layers, the side of the tongue and can also have an effect on the palate. A jointed mouthpiece is seen as a standard mouthpiece.<\/p>\n

The eggbut is a standard cheekpiece. The rings cannot move separately from each other, so the riders aid is conveyed directly and the bit lies stable in the horse\u2019s mouth. In addition, this cheekpiece does not pinch the corners of the horse\u2019s mouth so bit rings are not necessary.<\/p>\n
